Sandrine Atabong

Founder and Executive Director

Sandrine Atabong is the Founder and Executive Director of Women in Humanitarian Dynamics (WIHD). She is an interdisciplinary research practitioner whose work bridges human rights, entrepreneurship, and information technology. Her academic and professional journey reflects a lifelong commitment to equity and community development—values shaped by her early exposure to public service through her mother’s leadership in Cameroon’s Ministry of Social and Women’s Affairs. This foundation continues to guide her research and inclusive leadership approach.

She holds a BSc in Law and an MSc in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action, and has served in both public and private institutions, including the Center for Social Affairs and the National Commission for Human Rights and Freedoms in Yaoundé, Cameroon. In these roles, she focused on advancing social policy, driving institutional reform, and protecting vulnerable populations.

Now based in the United States, Sandrine earned an MBA in Information Technology Management (Technology Strategy & Leadership) and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Information Technology (AI/ML) at Virginia Tech. Her research applies artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and machine learning to strengthen disaster operations management and build resilient supply chains, with the goal of improving decision-making in times of uncertainty.
